Perihelion Interactive has launched an ambitious Kickstarter to fund The Mandate, a spaceship-based singleplayer RPG with a strong focus on interstellar conquest.
Perihelion is seeking $500,000, and the game is currently only in the pre-production phase. While I tend to direct heavy skepticism towards Kickstarter proposals of this nature, the spaceship game genre as a whole has seen a major renaissance already, thanks to other crowdfunded projects (FTL, Star Citizen), and this project is right up our collective alley.
